perhaps the funniest part of Elon’s takeover is the deep contradiction between his innovation branding and the fact that all he can come up with is a paywall

I used to tweet articles that I’ve gotten published; it’s felt gauche but as an early career scholar with a chip on his shoulder it feels like a possible response to the neoliberalization of the academy. So I’m going to take the liberty of posting the article that came out of my MA dissertation, available now in the Canadian Journal of Communications:

Here’s another way, which has slightly easier instructions (but still requires tech know-how, alas):

I’ve phased in and out of using RSS readers for my news instead of just opening twitter for it, but always fell prey to the ease of the latter. Trying to get RSS feeds in my mastodon timeline led me to this cool counter history of social network implementation, plus instructions on how to keep RSS in my life

was pleasantly surprised that the clocks went back today. Is this "abundance mentality"?

I will, however, repost good memes I found on twitter (wish I remembered who posted this)

I never really tweeted much anyway but this seems healthier is a Mastodon instance for people interested in thinking creatively and critically about technology, in the broadest sense. The only requirement is that you keep to the code of conduct! Note: we've paused new signups for a few days while we deal with the #twittermigration influx - please do request an invite, but be aware that for now functions more like a 'waiting list' than a knock on the door, until our numbers stabilise again :-)
