, and peeps:
Come join us in person or via zoom for our Workshop " in use: bureaucratic processes and technology use in Africa"! We want to explore the interdependent of and processes; i.e. things like borrowing with the intention of standardising procedures, but also how technologies themselves, esp. , engender in their management.

I just discovered the Deleuze Seminars - basically many (not quite all but alot) of Deleuze's seminars have been transcribed AND translated to English AND they're free to download!

You can find him working out many of the key concepts that later make into A Thousand Plateaus and What Is Philosophy here:

Mastodon meta - long-term goals

Another long term goal for Mastodon - attracting activists from the On the bird app it was possible to get news from the ground in places like . Here I haven't seen any participants reporting, only journalists. Translation tools and easier signup would help here.

I am a historian interested in the decolonization of British and French Colonies/Trusteeships in Africa through the lense of large technological systems, especially high dams. My further research areas are: Global history, media and gender history and cultural history of the political. I am based at Bielefeld University.

This is exactly what baroque theatre as described by Walter Benjamin warned us about:

„The prince, with whom the decision on the state of emergency rests, proves in the first situation that a decision is almost impossible for him. […] not the sovereignty displayed in the Stoic idioms but the abrupt arbitrariness of a storm of emotions that can change at any moment.“

This explains basically everything about Elon Musk's actions. Some of his companies work in spite of him. Twitter just has no immune system against his thing.

Yesterday Macron said that French was the language of decolonisation. Today, someone slapped him. I'm not saying the two things are connected but fuck_around_find_out.gif

#Introduction:

I teach #WorldLiterature and #composition at a public college in the southeastern US. My current work examines how #comics artists from #WestAfrica and #CentralAfrica navigate #print and #digital realms in their work, and I’ve researched comics in #Senegal in particular. I also have a book from 2014 about portrayals of migration in #Senegalese texts.

I sometimes post about #ttrpg #ActualPlay, especially #CriticalRole. I also still love #AnimalCrossing.

#LitStudies #litodons

Following others’ advice, here my #Introduction with #.

I’m an Asst Prof @ Fudan University.

I work on #China ‘s foreign policy (policymaking process) and relations with the #MiddleEast (how those countries’ domestic and foreign policy change as they interact with China). I’m strongly into #foreignpolicyanalysis and #internationalrelations theory more broadly.

Look forward to learning about other ppl’s research and teaching tips in all fields!

Journalists should be actively fleeing Twitter. It is only going to get worse.

Moving to another proprietary platform, with a waiting list, is not the best look.

The future of journalism is in smaller and more collaborative orgs. Embrace open source and co-creation.

Assemblag.es

assemblag.es is a Mastodon instance for people interested in thinking creatively and critically about technology, in the broadest sense. The only requirement is that you keep to the code of conduct! Note: we've paused new signups for a few days while we deal with the #twittermigration influx - please do request an invite, but be aware that for now functions more like a 'waiting list' than a knock on the door, until our numbers stabilise again :-)
